#Support is our official help channel, and is maintained by the Support Team. It is built on and around assisting users with DareNET-related matters, IRC usage and channel registrations. The channel is run solely by trained, dynamic and dedicated volunteers.

Channel Guidelines

To help ensure everyone receives timely and efficient assistance, the following rules should be observed when joining #support and asking questions:

  1. Idling in #support is not allowed.
    1. Upon entering #support, you should message HelpServ with a short description of your problem. This is important as it enables support staff to gather appropriate information before needing to talk to you for further information.
      1. EXAMPLE: /helpserv I forgot my password and tried using RESETPASS, but I still have not received the e-mail. My account name is JoeUser.
    2. If you are unresponsive when a staff member is addressing you, you may be banned from the channel for a short amount of time. You will be expected to respond when it is your turn so that you may be quickly helped. So, please keep an eye on the channel.
    3. After you have been satisfactorily helped, you should /part #support so that others may join and receive assistance.
    4. If for some reason you must leave your computer and don't feel you will be back when it's time for your request to be addressed, just /part the channel and join at a more convenient time.
  2. Our support staff and opers are expected to be courteous and respectful at all times. Likewise, we expect our users to show the same respect in return.
  3. The final interpration of any rules listed on this page will be made by the Support Team.
