DareNET exists to facilitate discussion and exchange of ideas. It is a community.
Towards this end, certain behaviors and practices will not be tolerated.
Bottom line, treat others the way you'd like to be treated and don't be a jerk. It's really that simple. If you need help figuring out whether you're being a jerk, refer to this simple chart.
While we allow you to use our service without an identity, it doesn't mean you can run rampant across the network. We expect all users to abide by these Community Guidelines (henceforth, the "guidelines") at all times. You don't have to agree with everyone, but please respect other users. We trust you to be responsible, and others users respect that trust. Please be one of them.
These guidelines are in addition to, and does not in any way nullify or invalidate, any terms of service related to use of DareNET.
Don't try to look for loopholes or lawyer your around these guidelines—just try to understand them and respect the spirit in which they were created. If you find yourself asking whether or not you're crossing the line, chances are you shouldn't do it. Should there be any ambiguity as to how these guidelines apply to your circumstance or situation, interpretation will be at the sole discretion of DareNET staff.
We are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, age, race, physical appearance or similar personal characteristics. Harassing other users is never tolerated, whether it occurs in public or private.
No matter who you are, if you feel you have been or are being maliciously harrased by another user, please contact a staff member immediately. Whether you're a veteran user or a newcomer, we care about making this community a safe place for you and we've got your back. In other cases, users may be mildly annoying or petty and should simply be ignored.
When you're banned from a channel or DareNET, you're cast out with the other misfits. Any attempts to get around it will be considered harassment and only prolong your ban.
Please respect our users and channel owners and help keep DareNET free of spam. Some examples of spam or spammy behavior include:
Don't load malicious bots onto the network or create excessive connections (clones).
Although this may seem obvious, keep it legal. Don't use DareNET to engage in unlawful activities.
We want your visit here to be enjoyable. If you have questions about these guidelines, or need to report a violation, please contact a DareNET staff member. When reporting a violation, please include as much detail as possible. It's easiest for us to address issues when we have more context. We will use the information you provide to conduct an investigation and contact you if we need more details; however, you will not receive notification on what action was taken, if any. We also wll not tell you their email address, IP address, and any other personal information that we may have.
Okay, this one is more about us than you. Our staff reviews all abuse reports to determine whether our Community Guidelines have been violated. To protect the integrity of our community, DareNET staff reserve the right to ban any user or suspend any account at any time that is found to be in violation of these guidelines or engaged in activity deemed to be inappropriate or harmful. You are free to petition your case (and we review all petitions), but we are not inclined or required to provide a reason at the time of ban or suspension.
There is no fixed time as to the length of a ban or suspension unless otherwise noted. We will unban or unsuspend accounts at our discretion based on a review of your actions, account standing and any other information we may have. Our Support team reviews all petitions, and processes them with all other support requests, thus we will respond to you once we are done helping users in good standing.
Remember that this is your community. Each and every user of DareNET makes the network what it is, so don't be afraid to dig in and get involved. Have fun. We hope you'll find something new to love as you get to know the community.
You may not like everything you see. Some content may even offend you—if you find it violates these guidelines, then join #help and let a staff member know, or contact us, then consider placing the user on ignore or joining another channel—why waste time on something you don't like?
That's it. Thanks for reading!
