To connect to DareNET, you can simply use irc.darenet.org, which should automatically choose the best server for you based on your geographic location and current user load for all servers on the network. All of our servers accept connections on ports 6660 - 6669. SSL-enabled connections are supported on ports 6697 and 9999 (verify certificates).
For those of you who can't, or simply don't want to use an IRC client, give our WebChat client a try, which can be found here.
If you're interested in contributing to the network by providing a server, please see our Linking Guidelines.
Tor provides anonymous access to internet services, including IRC, and is used by a variety of people, from individual users, journalists, activists groups and more to provide privacy from traffic analysis. DareNET welcomes Tor users.
Tor access is available via our hidden service, using one of the addresses listed below. To connect, you will need a DareNET account, and the IRC client must be configured to use login-on-connect (LoC). To register an account, simply visit our sign up page, and for more information on using LoC take a look at our login-on-connect guide. Tor's wiki also has a page on configuring IRC clients to use Tor.
